An Automata-Based Cardiac Electrophysiology Simulator to Assess Arrhythmia Inducibility

Personalized cardiac electrophysiology simulations have demonstrated great potential to study arrhythmias and help in therapy planning of radio-frequency ablation. Its application analyze vulnerability ventricular tachycardia sudden death infarcted patients has been recently explored. However, the detailed multi-scale biophysical used these studies are very demanding terms memory computational resources, which prevents their clinical translation. In this work, we present a fast phenomenological system based on cellular automata (CA) simulate personalized electrophysiology. The is trained reproduce tissue dynamics healthy pathological conditions, including action restitution, conduction velocity restitution cell safety factor. We show that full simulation can be performed order seconds, emulate results patient’s model includes heterogeneous scar region. could risk arrhythmia for large number scenarios.
